Best time to visit

The beach shines across the long eastern-Cyprus season. July and August deliver the warmest sea and the fullest, most sociable atmosphere, but also the biggest crowds – arrive early to bag a sunbed. Late spring and September into early October are ideal for many visitors: warm water, softer heat and a little more room on the sand. Mornings are generally calmer and quieter, making them a lovely time for a swim out to the islet.

How to get there

Fig Tree Bay lies in the heart of Protaras, within the Paralimni area on Cyprus’s east coast, so if you’re staying in town it’s often walkable. The nearest airport is Larnaka International, roughly a forty-five-minute to one-hour drive away depending on traffic, which makes Protaras an easy transfer after landing. There is parking near the beach, but it fills fast in high season, so come earlier in the day or walk in if your accommodation is close.
