Coral Bay sits just below the village of Peyia, on the coast a short way north of Paphos. The beach is a compact horseshoe framed by low limestone headlands, which shelter the bay and keep the water calm. Behind the sand runs the Coral Bay strip – a cheerful stretch of tavernas, cafes, bars and holiday shops that gives the whole area an upbeat, resort feel. The sand and water

The bay has genuinely lovely golden sand that’s soft underfoot and wide enough to find a spot even in season. The sea shelves gently and stays shallow a good way out, which is a big part of why families love it – children can paddle safely and the water is usually calm thanks to the protecting headlands. It’s a Blue Flag beach, meaning it meets recognised standards for water quality and safety, and the sea is warm and swimmable roughly from June into October.

Best time to visit

The beach is enjoyable across the long Cyprus season. July and August bring the warmest sea and the liveliest atmosphere, but also the biggest crowds and the fullest sunbeds, so arrive early to claim a good spot. Late spring and September or early October are the sweet spot for many – warm water, comfortable heat and a calmer beach. Even in the shoulder months the sheltered bay tends to stay pleasant, and the strip keeps enough open to feel alive.

How to get there

Coral Bay is an easy trip from Paphos, lying a short drive north of the town – roughly fifteen to twenty minutes by car, and reachable by regular local buses in season. The nearest airport is Paphos International, around half an hour’s drive away, which makes Coral Bay one of the most convenient good beaches to reach soon after landing. There’s parking near the beach, though it fills quickly at peak times, so aim to arrive earlier in the day.
